WHAT IS DISC?
DISC is the world’s no.1 behavioural assessment, taken by millions of people every year and is estimated to be in use by 75% of Fortune 500 companies. DISC is a very simple yet powerful four-quadrant framework used to articulate the common ways that all human beings tend to behave and communicate.
The 4 core DISC behaviours measured are:
- Dominance – How we respond to problems & challenges.
- Influence – How we respond to people & contact.
- Steadiness – How we respond to pace & consistency.
- Compliance – How we respond to procedures & constraints.
DISC is a wonderfully versatile tool when used in conjunction with traditional training and coaching methods.
Happens by our brains making incredibly quick judgments and assessments of people and situations without us realising. Our biases are influenced by our background, cultural environment and personal experiences, mental conditioning prejudices and beliefs.

WHAT IS EMOTIONAL QUOTIENT?
Emotional Intelligence (EI) is considered to be one of the most desirable characteristics in leaders or people of influence. Studies have found that individuals with high EI could be anything from 40% to 122% more effective in positions involving influencing, managing, negotiating and/or serving others.

In simple terms how apply emotional intelligence. There are a number of EQ models but essentially they all come back to 4 core concepts of Emotional Intelligence.
People with emotional intelligence tend to:

- Beaware of others’ emotional states and the impact they have.
- Takeaction to manage or impact their own emotional states for the better.
- Takeaction to manage or impact others’ emotional states for the better.
Whilst Emotional Intelligence is something we possess naturally, it can be developed and enhanced once we increase our awareness.
Research suggests that people who develop and apply the principles of emotional intelligence tend to; manage conflict better, improve relationships, increase job performance and experience improved mental and even physical health.

The most powerful motivation comes from within — from our core values. Yet, very few people can articulate their own values or are aware that all values can be traced back to half a dozen primary “motivators”. Once we understand this better it helps us unlock the power, capability and desire of individuals. In the workplace identifying motivators is essential for improving performance
Learning styles group common ways that people learn. Everyone has a mix of learning styles. Some people may find that they have a dominant style of learning, with far less use of the other styles. Others may find that they use different styles in different circumstances. There is no right mix. Nor are your styles fixed. You can develop ability in less dominant styles, as well as further develop styles that you already use well.
The Seven Learning Styles are;
- Visual(spatial): You prefer using pictures, images, and spatial understanding.
- Aural(auditory-musical): You prefer using sound and music.
- Verbal(linguistic): You prefer using words, both in speech and writing.
- Physical(kinaesthetic): You prefer using your body, hands and sense of touch.
- Logical(mathematical): You prefer using logic, reasoning and systems.
- Social(interpersonal): You prefer to learn in groups or with other people.
- Solitary(intrapersonal): You prefer to work alone and use self-study.
Your learning styles have more influence than you may realize. Your preferred styles guide the way you learn. They also change the way you internally represent experiences, the way you recall information, and even the words you choose. Research shows us that each learning style uses different parts of the brain. By involving more of the brain during learning, we remember more of what we learn. Researchers using brain-imaging technologies have been able to find out the key areas of the brain responsible for each learning style.
